“Initial contact was made at the Light and Building Fair in 2014. We were looking for an efficient lighting solution and were interested in the TRI-Proof Light. The prospect of replacing the lamps only every 6 or 7 years instead of every 3 years was very enticing. Ultimately, a large-scale replacement operation involves a lot of effort. First we have to cordon off a large area where the lamps are going to be replaced, as it is our policy not to replace lamps above parked cars, because the risk of a part falling and damaging one of the cars is too great. Depending on the height of the ceiling, the team is instructed to work from ladders or operating platforms,” says Manfred Zehetbauer, describing the procedure. In addition, the long lifetime of the lamps and the associated reduction in the replacement cycle means that far less raw materials are used in production and a lot less waste is generated at the end of their useful life – making an important contribution to the protection of the environment at a time of increasingly scarce resources.
“Currently 75 per cent of all lights fitted in P+R multi-storeys and underground garages are TRI-Proof Light. Unlike other lamps, I can be sure that their colour temperature will remain stable.” says Manfred Zehetbauer.
Total of 830 existing lights were removed and the following new LED lights were installed:
